The Study of Responses of Judo Wrestler to Maximal Exercise Loading

Abstract
To investigate the physiological characteristics of Judo, a tradition isometric play unique to Korea cardio respiratory responses to symptom-limited maximal exercise loading were studies by Brnce Protocal in 15 Judo wrestlers and in 15 age matched non-athletes, which served as controls.
In the wrestles, Vo2 max was significantly smaller, and 02 pulse and AT were significantly larger than those in the contorts, but HR max and AT/Vo2 max were essentially similar in both group. The Vo2 cax in the wrestlers was also smaller than that in the other players.
Ventilatory parameters such as RR, VE/M2, VE/Vo2 VE/Vo2, and VT/VC at maximal exercise showed no significant differences between two group, However VE/Mvv was significantly Higher in the wrestlers. These facts suggest than aerobic capacity and ventilatory reserve are diminished in the Judo wrestlers.
